  Students who attend Jordahl Academy receive their education online, rather 

than attending school at a physical location.

  Highly qualified, Iowa licensed teachers deliver a rigorous curriculum that correlates to state standards and provides students with a variety of innovative learning materials and all of the resources necessary for success. Teachers are heavily involved in each student’s learning experience and prioritize tailoring instruction to fit each individual student’s needs and learning style.

  Students participate in a virtual classroom from the comfort of their own homes or anywhere else internet access is available. 

In fact, if you do not have internet access, we provide it!

  While a traditional public school calendar runs from August to June with district determined days off, Jordahl Academy has both a set school year schedule, 

and options for year-round work to better suit the needs of 

students with health and family needs. 

  The school year consists of 1,080 hours of instruction and 40 hours of service learning. In addition, students have ample opportunity to engage in future-focused learning through our Genius Hour program.

  Students enrolled in Jordahl Academy have the freedom to develop a schedule that works best for them on a daily and weekly basis. This personalized schedule allows students to work at their own pace, giving them the time they need to get a thorough understanding of each subject. 

  There is also the added benefit of concentrating about what truly interests 

them by choosing subjects from a wide range of 

courses not typically offered in public schools.

 While the computer is used as a tool for teachers, parents, and students to manage and track assignments, communicate with each other, and deliver interactive school materials, students at Jordahl Academy do not actually spend all of their time on the computer.

 Many assignments consist of offline activities, such as reading physical textbooks, using workbooks, and doing hands-on science experiments – which is similar to a traditional school setting.

  Jordahl students are paired with a mentor for the entire time they are in the program. This ensures they are not only making academic progress, but have the personal attention they need to be emotionally healthy and 

make future planning a reality.
